Hello, My name is Regina Derrick, and I am a Georgia native. I attended UGA for two years and graduated from GSU with a BSED English degree. I earned 18 hours towards my Masters, and I am certified in AP, GT, and IB areas of English. I have been teaching school for 25 years, and I have been teaching at BLHS for seven years. This semester I teach AP English V, CP English V, and CP English IV. I am the Sunshine Committee Coordinator, the ELA Department Chairperson, the coordinator for the eleventh grade section of the Advisor/Advisee program, and a part of the BLHS Leadership Team. I believe that reading and responding to literature allows students to relate their life experiences to fictional and nonfictional characters as they observe their actions and emotions in each situation. Being able to read, write, speak, research, and use technology correctly are important tools for college, career, and life situtations.
